Christmas Cards

Here are the Christmas Cards I made using a Kanban Craft kit I got from Create & Craft, it was a members gift so didn't cost me anything except the P&P. I think it was well worth it.

If anyone can let me into the secret of how to align pictures and not have massive gaps on the blog I'd be grateful if you could leave a comment as I'm finding it a nightmare, thanks.

Apologies

Well here I am apologising again for not posting anything recently.

I've been concentrating a lot on exercises, walking and more exercises for the rehabilitation after my hip operation so I've taken the easy option and the cards I've made have been from some kits. I need to get the photos taken but keep forgetting to ask my wonderful husband to bring the camera downstairs.

I'm trying to find somewhere that sells nice boxes that aren't too expensive as some of the cards I've made I intend to put together for Christmas presents but I need something to put them in. The card sizes range from 4x4 up to A5 & 8x8 so if you've any ideas on where I can get something then I'd love you to let me know.

So major apologies again but I'll get something sorted soon.

Never tool old for Cupcake

Another Lily of the Valley stamp this time one chosen by my Mum for her friends 70th birthday. I love this design & is the first fairy one I've done so the wings were a bit of a challenge but some advice from my friends on the CraftsUprint forum sorted that one out.

I used plenty of different dies & I also did some embossing using a silver embossing powder I've not done any of this for a long time.

and a close up of that lovely little fairy & her cupcake

I'm entering this design into the following challenges:

Craftwork Cards Christmas Kit

At the Doncaster show in July I bought a Christmas kit by Craftwork Cards in preparation for not being able to do very much due to my hip replacement operation.

The kit contained a backing papers, sentiments, 20 cards & envelopes & a number of printed stamped designs just ready to colour with my Promarkers.

Over the last couple of months in between all the birthday cards I've made 13 cards using the kit & there's still plenty of stuff left to make more than the 7 cards left.

I used inspiration from the Craftwork Cards Gallery for some of the cards. I hope you like the photos of those I've made so far, click on an image to view a larger version:

(I can't get these to display in line for some unknown reason)

This last card has a couple of flowers that were purchased from Dragon Lair Designs

Sorry for not posting

Well guys I've been making Christmas Cards this week I just haven't had time to photograph & load them to the blog yet.

I'll hopefully get it done this weekend but you'll have to bear with me as I've been in a fair bit of pain this week due to me starting to walk on my operated leg. It's not the hip that's giving me gyp it's all the muscles that I've not used for the last 7 weeks which means although it hurts I can't sit still for too long as I seize up.

I think it's going to be slow going as there is so much to think about when walking - things that are generally taken for granted.

Playing Guitar

A card this week for my other nephew who will be 8 next week so another male card. I thought this LOTV stamp was quite appropriate as he's learning to play the guitar. To make the card base I took a ready made 8x8 card & cut it to make the stepper card for a change.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges

The card was made using the following
  • Playing Guitar Stamp - LOTV
  • Guitar Stamps, Main Backing Paper, Ribbon - Dragon Lair Designs
  • Card Candi & Lettering, Embossed Layer - Craftwork Cards
  • Music Backing Paper - Freebie from internet I forget where, sorry!
And a close up of the main image

Hope you like this design

Computer Fun

A male card this time for my nephew Tom whose birthday is later this month. I've used the Lili of the Valley Computer Fun stamp as the main image for the card. The sentiment is also a LOTV stamp. I always struggle with male cards but hopefully he'll like it.

Things used in the making of this card are:
  • Computer Fun Stamp & Sentiment Stamp - Lili of the Valley
  • Main Backing Paper & Glitter Flowers - Dragon Lair Designs
  • Glitter Card (Red & Black/Blue), Card Candi & Candi Stamps (Lettering) - Craftwork Cards
  • Ribbon - Fantastic Ribbons
  • Blue Paper - Card Making Downloads
...and a close up of the main stamp

Super Striker

My sons birthday card this time afraid it's another Lili of the Valley stamp (sorry addiction is continuing) Super Striker. My son is a football addict so it's had to be done in Liverpool colours although I had to have a contrasting background.

I can't remember where the papers came from so apart from the LOTV stamps the other items used are Card Candi from Craftwork cards & ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons.

The stamp I coloured with Promarkers after I'd lightly inked the background & used a Spellbinder die to cut it out.

First One of the Year

Well I know it's only September but as I'm laid up at the moment I thought I may as well get started on the Christmas cards so here's one I've made. The aperture was created using a Spellbinders die but everything else was from Craftwork Cards.

A simple design I know but I don't think the tree stamp requires much more to be added apart from a little glitter & glaze on some areas. Card candi & promarkers were used to colour this.

I'm entering this card in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge 234 - Christmas in September

Coffee Break Birthday

This card I've made for a friends birthday who loves drinking coffee so what better stamp from LOTV could I have picked. I just love the fact that they are sat on the high stools that are found in a lot of places these days.

The backing papers (except the gold star one), ribbon & flowers for this card were all from my blog candy win from Dragon Lair Designs, the colours of which just make this card.

I'm entering this card into the Lili's Little Fairies Embellishment Bingo Challenge. I've selected the line containing pearls, lace & glitter (not a lot just on the ends of the swirly die-cut shapes)

Also into the Totally Paper Crafts use your favourite stamp challenge

& here's a closer view of the stamped image coloured with Promarkers

Items I've used in making this card

  • Coffee Break & sentiment stamps - Lili of the Valle
  • Backing papers, Ribbon & Flowers - Dragon Lair Designs
  • Lace - Fantastic Ribbons
  • Gold star paper was from my stash
Hope you like it

Chocolate Box Thank-You

A thank-you card today for the nurses that looked after me while I was in hospital having a hip replacement. Another Lili of the Valley stamp (afraid I'm addicted to these at the moment) called Chocolate Box which is just right as that's the present I took them in.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges

On the card I've used Cherry Blossom, the larger Roses & leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts - need to order more of these as I'm running low.

The backing papers were a freebie in a magazine I got a while ago but matched beautifully with the colours I chose. The ribbons are from Fantastic Ribbons & the card was finished off with the Card Candi & letter stamps from Craftwork Cards.

A close up of the stamp which was coloured with Promarkers

and a close up of the flowers, the small roses were from a blog candy I won from Dragon Lair Designs everything else is from Wild Orchid Crafts

Hope you like the card

Celebrations

My sister-in-law Julie got married last week to a lovely guy Sebastian. I wish them all the best and was just sorry that due to my current health problems I couldn't attend the party they had at the weekend. I did however make a couple of cards for them one from my husband & I and the other from the kids.

This is the card from my husband & I, it's the Together Forever stamp from Lili of the Valley:

Things used in this card are:

  • Together Forever Stamp, Sentiment stamp - Lili of the Valley
  • Paper Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
  • Embossed Card, Card Candi - Craftwork Cards
  • Ribbon - Fantastic Ribbons
  • Backing Paper was in my stash

I've included a close up of the stamp which was coloured using Promarkers

Now for the second card

Items used were similar to before except the main stamp used was LOTV Filigree Heart of which there's a close up below. I just love this as it looks so delicate

Hope you like these

Can't believe I won

Well what a surprise I got yesterday to find that I'd won the blog candy from Dragon Lair Designs that I put as the first post on my blog. First time I've ever won anything like that. The site is well worth a visit as they've some lovely digital backing papers & digital stamps.

The items will get well used as I'm currently recuperating from a hip replacement so am not very mobile at the moment so crafting is helping to keep me busy. This is also an apology if for not making many posts in the last couple of weeks.

Sisters Birthday Card

This ones for my sister but ssshhh! it's not her birthday for a while & as my blog is new I'm safe in posting it as I haven't told her about it yet.
Another stamp coloured using Promarkers with the addition of some flowers. The embossed card, edges of the stamp & card base were all inked with a pink ink.

I've included a close up of the stamp so you can see the image better:

and a close up of the paper roses

The items used in this design were
  • Emma Shoes Stamp - Lili of the Valley
  • Embossed Card & Card Candi - Craftwork Cards
  • Lace - Fantastic Ribbons
  • Roses & Leaves - Wild Orchid Crafts
P.S. I've just realised that I haven't added a sentiment so I may do that later as I've got time.

The One to Replace it

This is the card I made for my son to give my husband to replace the previous one (see previous post) that I made & then kept for myself. Actually my son said he preferred it & he also helped out a little by doing the embossing & attaching the card candi.

Here's a close up of the main stamp in the design:

The items I used in this design were
  • Fun Birthday & Sentiment - Lili of the Valley
  • Ribbon - Fantastic Ribbons
  • Embossed Present Card & Card Candi - Craftwork Cards
  • Cuttlebug Happy Birthday Embossing Folder
